At last, it would seem that winter is lifting its icy grip here in Sydney, but alas those cool winds are still hanging around for the meantime. So I thought I would share my top 3 jackets/ outwear that are getting me through those cooler days.
THE BLAZER
It needs no introduction or explanation really. A black blazer is a no-brainer (that kind of rhymes... god I'm good...). Bit surprisingly this was actually only a relatively recent investment for me. I'm ashamed that its taken me so long seeing as its such a versatile piece that can be styled in any number of ways. I personally opted for a boyfriend style. Something not too corporate, that fits my tomboyish ways but still goes with everything.

THE CAMEL COAT
I have LIVED in and loved this jacket so much, that is actually falling apart a little bit (I have had it for a good few years now). So this colour definitely doesn't date. It's always my first coat that I reach for out of my wardrobe (most of the time I have to force myself to show my other coats some love). A longer length coat effortlessly dresses up any outfit and as an added bonus it provides some extra warmth for your legs (especially good if you make poor wardrobe decisions in winter, like myself, as soon as you see some sun).

THE PUFFER JACKET
The Puffer Jacket is definitely having a moment right now. And I'm surely not the only one whose pretty happy about another practical item being on trend (aka sneakers). A puffer coat is not only genuinely SO warm, but is also a fun mix between street and sport luxe. I wear mine both in my day-to-day wear, but also to keep me cosy on my late afternoon walks or early morning treks to yoga... So yeah.... versatility. My advice would be to avoid anything that is going to box you in to either an activewear only or fashion only category, just to maximise cost per wear.
1. Plain colours
2. Matte fabric over shiny (more exercisey style jackets... Unless its patent look.. which is a different story we can discuss at a later date)
3. Avoid in-your-face branding where possible
