Here we have another key component of what I will be talking about endlessly here on tomgirl & threads. Ideas around building a timeless wardrobe and shopping sustainably etc etc.
Now I am ALL for brands committed on producing their products sustainably and consciously. But I don’t want you to think that making sustainable choices is an all or nothing approach. These things take time, and will take time for the industry to catch up. So in the process, I think we should focus on being more conscious about where we purchase our clothing from, but also think creatively about the items we are purchasing.
Where can we where them, how often, with how many existing wardrobe items and yes, in how many ways?
Now given in this above outfit, all I have changed is the way in which I’m wearing the shirt. BUT, even with such a simple (effortless) change, the vibe of the outfit is different. Albeit slightly, but still. It IS different.
Now maybe I swap my denim skirt for a pair of wide leg pants and some heels wearing my shirt off the shoulders, and here you have that entirely overused title of a “day to night” look.
We don’t have to overcomplicate things when it comes to shopping smarter and creating a more streamline, but versatile wardrobe.
